THE HAUTE POTATO COLLECTION

Welcome to the official newsroom of The Haute Potato Collection.

A runway experience. A cultural reckoning. A burlap-forward renaissance.

Hosted inside Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall, this first-of-its-kind, potato-sack-inspired fashion event reserved for editors, influencers, tastemakers with an appreciation for that which is truly sui generis.

WHAT IT IS

The Haute Potato Collection is a couture design partnership presented by Idaho® Potatoes, that reminds us  how the world’s most humble vegetable is widely seen as an object of desire.

In 1951, Marilyn Monroe slipped into an Idaho potato burlap sack and accidentally rewrote fashion history. Now, what began as simple farm packaging has become fashion folklore.

Seventy-five years later, that iconography rises again, reimagined for this year’s NYFW.

Presented live on February 11, the collection features statement silhouettes that showcase the transformation of field to fabric in an event that is expressive, elegant and inimitable.

Select looks will be auctioned to benefit No Kid Hungry, proving once and for all that fashion doesn’t just feed the soul, it helps feed children.

WHO'S INVOLVED

Idaho Potato Commission (IPC)

Representing generations of Idaho farming families, IPC brings its earth-grown legacy to the concrete altar of New York Fashion Week, to remind the world that the best potatoes come from Idaho.

Cartier Dior Eliasen

An Idaho-born fashion designer and Project Runway Junior alum, Cartier Dior Eliasen is known for narrative-driven couture and experimental materials.

Her work reflects a journey that blends Idaho potato farming roots, formal high-fashion training, and a deep love of Americana storytelling.

No Kid Hungry

Because even extravagance should have a conscience.

Proceeds from select auctioned looks will support No Kid Hungry’s mission to end childhood hunger in America.

Kristin McGee

Wellness icon. Runway presence. Human embodiment of inner glow.

The Idaho-born, New York-based fitness authority appears in the presentation, proving that balance, strength, and haute potatoes can coexist in perfect alignment.

About Idaho Potatoes

Established in 1937, the Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) is a state agency responsible for promoting and protecting the famous “Grown in Idaho®” seal, a federally registered certification mark that assures consumers they’re purchasing genuine, top-quality Idaho® potatoes. Idaho’s warm days, cool nights, mountain-fed irrigation, and rich volcanic soil give Idaho® potatoes their unique texture, taste, and dependable performance. These ideal growing conditions are what differentiate them from potatoes grown in other states. For more information, visit idahopotato.com.
